What is Reiki?

Reiki is a simple to use natural healing system. The word "Rei" means Universal and "Ki" Means light, translated to "universal light". Reiki involves using divine light energy which is called upon to heal, channeled through the healer's hands and directed at the client. The client receives the energy either through light pressure touch or with hands in close proximity. Reiki can also be described as spiritual energy healing.

Reiki works initially to clear blockages and remove old/excess energy, then reiki flows through the patient to infuse vital life-force energy into the recipient restoring and balancing energy. Finally Reiki strengthens and protects the client.

It is simple to use and this simplicity makes it available to everyone, in all places and for a variety of reasons. The Reiki healing system was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui and originated from Eastern Traditions.

Why are there so many Systems and Reiki styles?

There are many hundreds of systems and Reiki styles which all represent different aspects of the one Universal energy or different view points on the same topic. Every system has a different feel of energy and flavor and may employ different techniques and methods with various meditations and energy symbols. Respect and study the systems with love as they bring many chances to heal and bring happiness and wholeness.

How do I know which one to choose?

It is normally a good idea to have Usui Reiki as a basis for the others, although this is not always necessary: ultimately, trust your intuition and choose one that feels right for you. If you need help please feel free to contact me for assistance.

What is an attunement?

An attunement is a traditional spiritual ceremony: a form of Initiation that opens you to a higher vibration of energy and gives you the ability to channel Reiki energy and connect you to the Reiki energy source. This means that your body has been tuned into the higher level Reiki energy. With each successive attunement, you will receive a higher or finer level of energy. To use Reiki you need to be attuned and after you have been attuned, you are open to the Reiki energy for life. The attunement is all you need to use Reiki energy in your own life and for those around you. A Reiki Master Teacher does this attunement.

What to expect from Activations, Empowerments, Infusions, Initiations, Reiki Attunements

There is sometimes some confusion about what to expect before, during, and after Attunements, Activations, Empowerments, Infusion, Initiations, and Reiki attunements. We are all individual, unique beings - everyone is special and different, thus what happens to one person might not happen to another. Some people will notice nothing, others a little and others will feel the energy intensely. These differences do not mean the attunement has not happened, just that everyone is different. Some people who have done many attunements with a lot of experience also can notice nothing, so it’s important to allow the process to occur without expectations. Potentially, over time, one's experience of the process may feel more intense- which is great, it is always nice to experience something. But either way, the energy will work and that’s what it’s ultimately all about.

Some people may have fantastic visions and see colors, they can meet their guides and guardian angels or totem animals, or feel a presence around them. Some experience symbols and all kinds of physical sensations, ranging from a slight pressure in the chest or head, a numbness, or possibly a slight breeze or heat, but this soon passes. Another thing that can happen is if you have asked a question during the attunement, an answer might come during the time of the attunement or just afterwards.

All energy sent during attunements will be accepted by your higher self and your guides who will always pass the energy on to you. All of the attunements can feel completely different – this is nothing to worry about.
